Kenneth was baptized on October 28, 1934 at Zion Lutheran Church, Arena Township by Rev. Helmstetter. His sponsors were Arthur Matthies and Ida (Loose) Roeske. He and his sister Marlys confirmed their faith on April 18, 1947 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Arena Township by Rev. A. Affeldt. Kenneth graduated from Bellingham High School with the Class of 1952. Kenneth met Eleanor Jessen in 1956 while Marlys and Irvin prepared for their wedding. They corresponded via letters while Kenneth actively served his country in the US Army from 1957 to 1959, serving the majority of this time in Germany. They were united in marriage by Pastor A.C. Esch on June 6, 1959 at Tyro Township Lutheran Church, Boyd, MN, and shared 57 years of marriage. Kenneth and Eleanor moved onto the Block family farm, which became a Century Farm in 1989, and where they farmed and raised their family. Kenneth was a lifelong farmer, even after retiring from milking cows and actively crop farming.
