The Zahrbock Funeral Home of Madison announces the death of 74 Mary Alice Norlin of Apache Junction, AZ formerly of Madison who passed on July 6, 2017 at Apache Junction. Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 15, 2017 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Father Brian Oestreich will officiate at the Mass. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Church. Mary Alice (Bendel) Norlin was born on December 5, 1942 in Madison, Minnesota to George and Martha (Wilger) Bendel. She was called home by our Lord on July 6, 2017, at the age of 74. Mom was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael's Church in Madison, Minnesota. She graduated from Madison High School in 1960 after which she moved to Minneapolis. She was united in marriage to Erick Norlin and together they had two boys, John and Jeff and moved back to Madison to raise them. Mom worked as a secretary at St. Michael's Church and did upholstery work for Marilyn Stamp and later Marilyn Olson. After their divorce, Mom returned to Maple Grove MN, where she worked as a data processor for John Alden Ins. In 1995 the Lord reunited the Norlins with Mom’s first child, Maria Hruska. Once retired, Mom moved to Brainerd MN to be closer to family. Winters proved too cold for her so she packed up and moved to a warmer climate, settling in Apache Junction, Arizona. She loved her home and enjoyed her new friends. Cherishing Mom’s memory are her children Maria (Randy)Hruska, of Fairbault, MN, John (Roxanne) Norlin, of Baxter, MN and Jeff (Deb) Norlin of Brainerd, MN. Her grandchildren Nick and Alex Hruska; Zach, Claire and Ella Norlin and Trent Norlin, Great-grandchildren Hayleigh Severson, Blake and Hudson Hruska. Her sisters Martha Aretz and Dorothy Wright. Mary was preceded in death by her parents George and Martha Bendel, sisters Helen Burns, Teresa Fossen and brothers Urban Aloysius and Sylvester Bendel. Mom, you will be loved and missed.
